église Saint-Rieul de Brenouille
Saint-Rieul Church is a parish Catholic church located in Brenouille, France. It is one of the very few churches dedicated to the first bishop of Senlis, Saint Rieul, who remains in the region. The oldest parts of the present building date back to the middle of the 12th century.
It's the transept cross and the north cross. The successive renovations and expansions gave the building a disparate character, which is in part its interest. The north crusillon and the lateral chapel north of the choir date from the end of the 12th century, and the choir hall of twice two spans of the 14th century.
These parts display different stages of Gothic architecture. The nave and the coasts were replaced by a classic style complex during the 1780s, and completed a few months before the French Revolution. Saint-Rieul Church was listed as a historical monument by decree of 2 April 1927 and restored in 1962.
It is affiliated with the parish of Sainte-Maxence in Pont-Sainte-Maxence.
