Romus and Rapidus is a buoy-like aquatic attraction located in the French theme park Parc Asterix in Plailly, Oise. Located in the "The Roman Empire" section, this Rapids Ride attraction was built by Intamin and opened on April 30, 1989, at the same time as the park. With a length of 540 m, the attraction welcomes visitors over a metre in its 25 nine-seater boats.
In 1991, the attraction was the scene of the film Operation Corned Beef, directed by Jean-Marie Poiré. On 5 July 2006, a young boy fell from a pneumatic raft, was trained by the current and drowned. The attraction closed and was opened again in 2008.
During this closure, significant security work was carried out, such as the installation of safety nets near the lift, the addition of security cameras, the addition of lifejackets near the river and the installation of large records on boat seats.
