The Château de Seyssuel is a former 12th century episcopal castle located on the territory of the municipality of Seyssuel, in the department of Isère and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, in France.
Situation and access: The castle, whose remains are visible from the banks of the Rhone, is located on the territory of the municipality of Seyssuel, in the north-western part of the department of Isère, between the cities of Vienna, to the south and the Lyon agglomeration, to the north. Also known as the old "Château Episcopique" or "Château de la Roche-Piquee", the name of the rock on which it is established and which dominates the A7 motorway and the railway line of the Paris-Lyon line to Marseille-Saint-Charles, the site is accessible only by footpaths. It is a private property whose only external parts are accessible to the public.
