The Pasteur Hotel is a remarkable building located in the centre of Rennes. Built in 1888, it successively houses the Faculty of Science and then the Dental Faculty until 2018. Since then, the building has been used as a project site and a kindergarten has also been established.

Location: The building is located east of the city centre, along the Vilaine. The main façade overlooks the Place Pasteur, the Quai Dujardin Félix Dujardin was the first dean of the Faculty of Sciences of Rennes from 1840 to 1842 is to the south and the street Kléber to the north.

History: The Pasteur Hotel was built in 1888 by municipal architect Jean-Baptiste Martenot and Emmanuel Le Ray and was fully invested in 1897 by the Faculty of Science which occupied it until 1967 and until its move to the Beaulieu campus. The dental faculty replaced her from 1969 until her move in 2018 to the Pontchaillou hospital site. Since 2013, on the initiative of former mayor Daniel Delaveau, a large part of the building - on the floors - has been invested by architect and scenographer Patrick Bouchain to create the University Foraine, a place of experimentation...
