The Allonnes archaeological site is a complex consisting of protohistoric (iron age) and Gallo-Roman architectural structures. This site is located in the territory of the municipality of Allonnes in the department of Sarthe. One of the site's monumental buildings, the first-century "themed Pasteur", was first explored in 1774.

These initial investigations allow the release of a small Gaulish temple in the hamlet of "Perrières". In the 19th century, between 1840 and 1843, then funded by the Conseil départemental de la Sarthe, archaeological research highlights other monumental structures of Gallo-Roman period. This research is conducted under the direction of Charles Drouet.

The second programme of excavations, within the place called "La Tour-aux-Fées" and carried out from 1953, continues in 1957 under the patronage of archaeologist Pierre Térouanne, highlight an imposing building of an area of about 300 m2: the sanctuary of Mars Mullo. This monument, with a religious vocation, is a Gallo-Roman building built in the first century and then abandoned during the fourth century. The deposits of artisanal objects...
