Roman amphitheatre
amphithéâtre de Rotomagus
The Rotomagus amphitheatre is a former Roman amphitheatre, now extinct, which stood in the present city centre of Rouen and on whose site the castle of the city was built in the Middle Ages. This amphitheatre is attested in several medieval texts and in particular in the Life of Saint Roman from the Ivory Book preserved in the library of Rouen.
