basilique Saint-Ferjeux
Saint-Ferjeux de Besançon Basilica is a Romanesque-Byzantine eclectic basilica located in the Saint-Ferjeux district of Besançon. It was built under the patronage of Saint Ferjeux and Saint Ferréol (saint patrons of Besançon). The latter exalts both their spiritual lineage (the Apostle Saint John, his disciple Saint Polycarp, the disciple of this one Saint Irenaeus, who sends Saint Ferréol and Saint Ferjeux to Séquania), but also the great saints who lived in Franche-Comté (Holy Colette, reformer of the order of the Clares; Saint Jeanne-Antide Thuret, founder of the Sisters of Charity...). The basilica has been listed as historic monuments since 27 October 2006.
