About

Briga is a Gallo-Roman agglomeration which later became the city of Eu in the Seine-Maritime department. The Gallo-Roman archaeological site of " Bois l'Abbé", located in the Eu forest at an altitude of 130 metres on the plateau of Beaumont, and classified as historical monuments since 1987, has been searched intermittently for more than two centuries. It corresponds to a city of the High Roman Empire whose area is currently estimated at more than 65 ha. Every year, the site welcomes volunteers for summer excavation campaigns.
