Underwater archaeological site
habitat fortifié de Colletière
The fortified habitat of Colletière, which dates from the first half of the 11th century, is an archaeological site immersed at the bottom of Lake Paladru, located at the place called Colletière, in the commune of Charavines in the department of Isère, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It was established by a group of so-called "peasant knights" and was abandoned a few decades later due to the rise of the lake's waters. This site is known, especially thanks to the film We know the song, by Alain Resnais, as the village of the peasant knights of the year thousand at Lake Paladru.
