The castle of Boigne, also known locally as the castle of Buisson-Rond, is a castle built in the 19th century, on older bases, which stands on the commune of Chambéry in the department of Savoie in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The castle of Boigne has been the subject of a partial inscription for historical monuments since 24 February 1982, under the name "Château de Buisson Rond".
Situation: The castle of Buisson-Rond is located at the south-east end of the commune of Chambéry, on the edge of the commune of Barberaz. It marks the entrance to Buisson-Rond Park from the city centre less than 5 km away. Its north-east facade faces the Albanne River, which is also crossed by a bridge extending the courtyard of the castle. The latter is located on the northern foothills of the Chartreuse massif, the south-west facade being raised due to the first coasts, which then continue until the exit of the park and beyond towards the Charmettes.
History: As early as 1341, we find historical traces of a fief of the Buisson Rond on Barberaz-le-Pelloux or the Petit. He was then the possession of the noble Grange of Chambéry. This...
