château de la Rochefoucauld
The Château de la Rochefoucauld was a castle located in the commune of Liancourt in the department of Oise, in the Hauts-de-France region of France. At present only the communes of the castle remain. All the communes have been listed as historical monuments since 3 December 1930.
The castle of Jean du Plessis: Located in the Brêche Valley, halfway between Creil and Clermont, the lands of Liancourt were distributed among several fiefs. From the twelfth to the fourteenth century, various lords, including members of the powerful family of Cressonacq, were called Liancourt without knowing whether they bore the name of the parish or a particular land. On the other hand, it is established that at the end of the 14th century, Jean I de Popincourt took the title of Sire de Liancourt at his marriage to Claude de Cressonsacq. He probably received on this occasion the manor house of modest dimensions (8.40 m out of 6) which the Cressonsacq had built in Liancourt and whose traces still existed in 1796 between Rue du Vieux-Château and Rue de Compiègne (future rue de l'École des...
