About

The Botanical Garden of Saint-Jean-de-Luz is a botanical garden located in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, France, on the edge of the coastal path overlooking the ocean, set on the coastal cliff of Archilua. The main purpose of this 2.5 ha garden is to present the typical flora of the coast of the Basque Coast: coastal moor, dunes, forests and wetlands. Thematic collections complete the visit in a flower maze, exotic collections or useful plant squares... Formerly named Paul-Jovet's Coastal Botanical Garden, he pays tribute to Paul Jovet, botanist and phytosociologist, student of Gaston Bonnier, who began his career in the Paris region after the First World War and who was interested in the concept of climax and the influence of history on the plant.
