fondation Vasarely
The Vasarely Foundation is an architectural centre (creation of a structure combining art and architecture at the service of its own meaning) located in Aix-en-Provence, erected between 1971 and 1976 by contemporary Franco-Hungarian artist Victor Vasarely. Designed as an architectural centre, it houses in an architecture made of alveoli the works of Vasarely integrated into the facades and internal walls of the building, which during his lifetime could serve as inspiration for the controls he was given. Located on the southwest edge of Aix-en-Provence, in the Jas-de-Buffan district, it also hosts temporary exhibitions or other cultural events.
It has been listed as a Historic Monument since 2013, with an annual attendance of 101,677 visitors (in 2019). It has the name Musée de France.
