musée d'art et d'archéologie de Senlis
The Senlis Museum of Art and Archaeology is located in the historic center of Senlis, close to Senlis Cathedral. It is housed in the former Episcopal Palace of the city, classified as a historical monument since 1964, and hosts a collection of fine arts, decorative arts and local archaeology. For the entire restoration of the building from July 2007, the museum had to close to the public, with a reopening originally planned for February 2009.
Archaeological discoveries delayed progress, but in September 2009 they were almost completed, except for the Renaissance Gallery and the Chamber of Angels, whose interior renovation had not yet begun. The reopening was then planned for September 2010, but public procurement was not completed in time, resulting in further delays. Finally the inauguration after the works took place on 23 June 2012.
