About

The Museum of Decorative Arts and Design (abbreviated as MADD or MADD-Bordeaux) is a museum located in the Hôtel de Lalande in Bordeaux, France. From 2023 the museum is closed for works and provides programming outside the walls until its reopening in April 2026. The museum's collections, furniture, port furniture, ceramics, glassware, goldsmith's, musical and measuring instruments, miniatures, table arts and interior objects, are an example of the French decorative arts, and in particular Bordeaux, of the 18th and 19th centuries.

They also bear witness to the history of Bordeaux, the city of Enlightenment and the great trading port in the 18th century. Since 2013, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs et du Design, supported by the cultural team of the city of Bordeaux, has developed a program to engage in a dialogue of decorative arts and design, and to foster cultural diffusion and education in design, combining economics and culture.
