The Palais des Sports de Marseille, locally abbreviated as "Le Palais des Sports", is located on Rue Raymond-Teisseire in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille, near the Vélodrome Stadium. It was inaugurated on 20 December 1988 and on the same evening the first sporting event took place with the handball match between France and Austria. The Palais welcomes any sporting event but also any other type of event.
