The Poitiers Plant Garden is a plant garden located next to the IAE Poitiers. Its area is 1.5 ha and it has an artificial cave, a basin, a tropical greenhouse, and about a hundred old trees and shrubs.
History: The plant garden of Poitiers was created by professors of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Poitiers in 1869 in place of the gardens of the Hôtel-Dieu. Paschal Le Coq, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, had established the first Poitiers plant garden in 1621 but it was necessary to move the Garden several times before arriving at the current site.
