Parc de la Préfecture

The Prefecture Park is a French public garden located in the city of Le Mans. It is located just behind the Sarthe prefecture. This park is private, not usually accessible and reserved for the prefecture.

However, it is open to the public on Heritage Days. The park is exactly 22 630 m2 and is included in the old complex of the Couture Abbey, including monastic buildings, abbey church and enclosures. It is notably known for having been inspired for the poem Mardoche d'Alfred by Musset, then visiting Le Mans.
