About

The step of Bellecombe-Jacob is a mountain pass and panoramic point of view overlooking the northwest of Enclos Fouqué, the last caldeira formed by the piton of the Fournaise, an active volcano of La Réunion. Perched in the rampart of Bellecombe, he derives his name from Guillaume Léonard de Bellecombe, governor of this island of the Indian Ocean in the 18th century, and Jacob, a slave who discovered it.
