tour de Grisset
The Tour de Grisset is the vestige of the cella of a fanum (gallo-Roman temple) located in Fréteval, Loir-et-Cher, France. If the monument itself is not searched, partial research carried out in the mid-1960s in its surroundings reveals the presence of a thermal complex and a series of structures with an undetermined function; the hypothesis of a small secondary agglomeration or a pilgrimage center is put forward. The remains of the fanum, remarkably preserved for a monument probably built in the 2nd or 3rd century, are listed as historical monuments in 1948; In 1991, protection was extended to the entire archaeological site.
