église Saint-Pierre de Verberie
Saint Peter's Church is a Catholic parish church located in Verberie, France. It belongs to the small group of the first churches classified as historical monuments in the department of Oise by lists of 1840 and 1862, with fewer than thirty buildings. The reputation of this rural church is largely due to an oral tradition, according to which the southern transept crusillon is the former chapel of the Royal Palace of Charlemagne.
Although built at the end of the 12th century only, it is an interesting example of the early Gothic architecture. For its other parts that are Gothic, and above all flamboyant, Saint Peter's Church is quite characteristic of a small church of the 15th century Valois, because it was rebuilt largely after its bombardment by the English in 1430.
