église des Cordeliers de Laval
The church of Notre Dame des Cordeliers de Laval is a church in Laval, built at the end of the 16th century and at the beginning of the 17th century. It was built from 1397 to 1407 by the religious called to Laval by Guy XII de Laval and his wife Jeanne de Laval, widow in first marriage of the connétable Bertrand Du Guesclin. It included, before the 19th century works, only a main nave flanked by a single collateral to the north on which 7 side chapels were opened which were adorned in the 17th century with an extraordinary series of retables thus undoubtedly the largest ensemble in the West of France.
The church has six marble altars with 17th-century altarpieces and vaulted panelling painted scenes of the life of Saint Bruno[Lequel?] and Saint Bonaventure. An altar of the same style occupies the entire width of the choir. It was listed as a historical monument by order of 15 February 1926 and then classified by order of 12 May 2023 in full with the soils of plots Nos.
