The Pont d'Egarande was one of twenty bridges built in the commune of Rive-de-Gier, in the Loire department. It bears several names: Charles X Bridge, Government Bridge, Verchères Bridge. It was built between 1823 and 1825 and destroyed between 1939 and 1943, leaving room for the current Pierre-Semard Bridge. The State was the sponsor.
