The Cathedral of Saint-Gatien de Tours is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Tours in the Old Towers in Indre-et-Loire. Dedicated to Saint Gatien, the first bishop of Tours, it is the seat of the Archdiocese of Tours and the metropolitan cathedral of the ecclesiastical province of Tours. It was listed as a historical monument in 1862.

Existence of a first cathedral: A first Saint-Maurice cathedral was built from 337 to 371, by Lidoire, Bishop of Tours from 337 to 371 and predecessor of Martin. Fired in 561, it was restored by Grégoire de Tours and signed in 590. Because of its location, at the southwest corner of the castrum, and its orientation to the east, access was made, if not through the late-antical enclosure, at least in bayonet from the way through the city; Such a configuration is rare. The cathedral was rebuilt during the second quarter of the 12th century and burned in 1166, during the struggles between Louis VII of France and Henry II of England, Count of Anjou.
