Opéra de Nice

The Nice Opera is a lyrical theatre located in the Old Nice and inaugurated in 1885. The venue for the choruses, the ballet Nice-Méditerranée and the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra, it is managed by the city of Nice in direct municipal control and has 1,083 seats and a production complex, the Diacosmie. The building presents itself in an interlocked urban fabric with two main facades: one in the south, on a seafront named dock of the United States, once occupied by ramparts and fishing barracks, the other in the north, with the entrance to the building overlooking St.

Francis de Paule Street. It is classified as historical monuments by order of 31 March 1992.
