About

The Stade des Alpes is a sports equipment from Grenoble-Alpes Métropole (La Métro) attached to the Pôle d'animation et gestion des équipements sportifs. This 20,068-seat stadium, inaugurated in February 2008 on the edge of the Paul-Mistral Park in Grenoble, was built on the site of the Charles-Berty Stadium destroyed in 2003 to allow the construction of this new enclosure. Located near the city centre, it has the peculiarity of not having parking, that of 440 places located under the land being closed on match days.

Although its capacity represents only 4.5% of the population of its metropolis, it was often considered a financial disaster during the six years following the collapse of Grenoble Foot 38 in 2011. Since 2008 it has hosted the Grenoble Foot 38 matches, but also since 2014 the FC Grenoble Rugby matches. He also hosted five games of the 2019 Women's World Cup as well as the Winter Game, an exceptional ice hockey game between the Wolf Burners and Briançon.
