église Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Crouy-en-Thelle
Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church is a parish Catholic church located in Crouy-en-Thelle, Oise department, France. It presents itself as an essentially flamboyant Gothic building, whose rectangular three-velocity plan, with a bell tower-poor preceding the nave, masks a much more complex reality. The choir is indeed of Romanesque origin, and retains two arches of warheads of the years 1130 / 1140 which are among the oldest in the department.
In the north ship, the last three vaults are of radiant Gothic style. While these elements, as well as the flamboyant networks of most windows, are of unquestionable interest, the recapture of most large arcades without regard for the aesthetics of the interior space, and the installation of arches of fake warheads and neo-Gothic vault keys in the 12th century, have not earned Saint John Baptist Church a classification of historical monuments to date. Nevertheless, the external elevations are now restored and well developed.
The church is affiliated with the parish of Saint-Louis in Thelle with its headquarters in Chambly, and early Sunday Masses are there...
