The Château de Cruzol is a former castle, founded at the end of the 12th century or at the beginning of the 13th century, renovated in the 16th and 17th centuries, which stands on the town of Lentilly in the Rhône department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The castle is listed as historic monuments by order of 7 June 1926. The castle is not visiting.
Situation: The Château de Cruzol is located in the municipality of Lentilly, in the Rhône department.
History: The castle was founded in the late 12th century or early 13th century by the archbishops of Lyon. In 1340 he was the possession of Guy de Lanay. Guillaume Henry, a bishop of Lyon, bought it around 1499. It was redesigned in the 16th and 17th centuries. The east wing is visible in the picture from the end of the seventeenth century and was inhabited by the famous Lyon painter Jean-Jacques de Boissieu (1736-1810). The castle today inhabited by several families remains one of the most famous monuments of Lentilly. The castle is not visiting.
