About

Saint-Étienne de Cahors Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Cahors, Lot department, Occitanie region. Built from the 12th century, it is one of the largest French buildings with domes on pendants and combines Romanesque and Gothic elements (chœur). It houses the Holy Hair, a relic that would have wrapped the head of Christ when he was placed at the tomb.

This cathedral is classified as historical monuments by the list of 1862. It has also been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in France since 1998. In 2020, a new classification order for historical monuments replaces the previous listings.
