église Saint-Georges du Heaulme
Saint George's Church is a Catholic parish church located in Heaulme, France. It consists for the most part of a unique nave without great character which dates back in part to the first half of the 12th century, and a Gothic choir of a single span built during the last quarter of the 12th century. Its warhead vault has disappeared, but its capital columns, mutilated, remain in place.
The main interest of the church lies in a late Romanesque tympanum of the middle of the 12th century, which is one among only two historical Romanesque tympanos of the French Vexin. Due to the value of its portal, the small church was listed as historical monuments by decree of 16 June 1926, and has been restored since then. The Heaulme is now affiliated with the parish of Avernes and Marines, and its church only hosts Sunday Masses twice a year on Saturdays at 1830.
