château de Montépilloy
The Château de Montépilloy is a castle in the commune of Montépilloy in the department of Oise in the Hauts-de-France region of France. The remains of the castle were classified as historical monuments by order of 3 May 1963. They have the northwest flank of a majestic 35 m high dungeon and have been visible for more than ten kilometres in the round; a wall of indatable enclosure; a castle from the beginning of the 13th century enhanced at the end of the 15th century; and an unfinished "new castle" from the beginning of the 15th century, comprising tower, court with fortified door and two houses.
The castle has been in ruins since the last phase of the Hundred Years' War in the region, and its enclosure has been home to a farm since that date, now untapped. The remains represent an interesting testimony of Gothic feudal architecture. The castle was restored by volunteers from the Association Chantiers Histoire et Architecture Médiévales during 2019.
