The church of Sainte-Geneviève de Gouvieux is a parish Catholic church located in Gouvieux, Oise commune. Behind its classical facade and walls largely taken over in the 18th century, is a building of primitive Gothic style eight centuries old. In the interior, successive overhauls and repairs are almost visible only on the floor of the high windows and in the last spans of the lower side; They are explained by the instability of the ground and the inadequacy of the foundations which have caused structural disorders.
The original warhead vaults have long disappeared and were replaced by false wooden and plaster vaults in 1861. The four eastern spans were built at the end of the 12th century and are influenced by Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris and the choir of Saint-Leu-d'Esserent. The first two spans date back to the 1220s and belong to the architectural current initiated by the cathedrals of Soissons and Chartres.
