The Inguimbertine Library is the classified municipal library of Carpentras. It is composed of public reading funds (adult section and youth section), heritage bibliographical holdings and museum collections recognized Museum of France (presented in two places, the Comtadin-Duplessis Museum and the Sobirats Museum). To evoke this originality, the term Inguimbertine library-museum is now used.
It has been one of the 54 municipal libraries classified as the most important in France since 1897. It has 250,000 volumes, including 100,000 ancients, 3,000 manuscripts, 4,000 periodicals, 1,000 paintings (including the masterpiece Gamines by Louise Breslau), 300 sculptures and 1,500 art objects.
