Saint Martin Church is a parish Catholic church located in Attainville, France. It succeeds a previous church whose dedication was celebrated only in 1529. But this church threatens to ruin in 1570, and must be replaced urgently.

Although the parish had no savings, a loan made it possible to start work in 1572. The master mason Nicolas de Saint-Michel de Luzarches, who adopts a simple plan without transept and an elevation in the tradition of flamboyant Gothic churches, is responsible for the direction of the site. He designed a pleasant Renaissance-style decor, whose ornamental vocabulary he mastered perfectly.

Work is progressing very quickly. When the funds were missing in 1575, the building was not fully completed. The consecration was nevertheless celebrated in September 1576, and the church was used for worship from that date.

It is sober, elegant and bright. Despite the repetition of the same motifs on all the supports of the nave and the sides, the monotony does not install. The western facade, the bell tower belfry floor, most of the north side and the vaults are built only later...
