The chalet refuge de Chamoissière is located in the French department of Hautes-Alpes, near the Parc national des Écrins, on the Alpe plan at an altitude of 2,106 m. It takes between 1:30 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. on foot from Arsine (comune de Villar-d'Arene) or 2 hours on the trail from the Col du Lautaret. The refuge is marked "spirit of Écrins National Park", a mark registered at the national level to enhance individual initiatives highlighting local heritage.

History: The pasture where the refuge is located has been used since the Middle Ages. Construction materials are sometimes very old. Ferries dating from the mining of iron mines nearby in 1830, frames mounted from the valley during the interwar period... Thus, this refuge is a decades old sheepfold. Today, the place has been renovated trying to keep its historic authenticity but also in order to acquire a certain energy autonomy.
